QUESTION: I have a very small CSA Bond, what can you tell me about it?
ANSWER: What you likely have is a CSA Bond Coupon. It is approximately 1.5 - 3.0" wide by 1.0 - 1.5" high. This is a piece of a CSA bond. CSA Bonds generally come with a very large upper part which is over 12' wide and over 8" high along with many coupons attached at the bottom. The coupons were individually cut off and redemed every six months as interest during the Civil War. The whole bond (along with the coupons) sell for around $75 up. The collector value of such coupons is around 50 cents each.

QUESTION: I have a Confederate $1,000 note. Can you tell me if it is real?
ANSWER: There were only 607 $1,000 notes issued by the CSA government. A little over 100 of them are known to exist today. There have been millions of reproductions issued since then. The most common serial numbers for these fakes are 297, 176, 88, and 49.
If your note has one of these serial numbers, there is no question about it, your note is a FAKE. If you have a different serial number then check to see the list of known serial numbers. If your number is NOT in the list, then it maybe real and you should contact me via email with the details. If your serial number is in the list, then the note is a fake. Also check "Description of a Real CSA Note" and CSA Fakes for more information.
Note: The above applies because you are asking if your note is real. There are over 100 CSA $1,000 note owners that know their note is real because they paid plenty for it and they don't have to ask me.
